WP Menus and Widgets

This assignment introduces WordPress widgets and menus. Menus are lists of navigational links that appear on every post and page in the site. WordPress allows you to create many different kinds of menus (e.g. menus listing all pages, all tags, or all categories). Where and how many menus are available depends on the theme, but most themes allow at least two distinct menus to be included.

Widgets, as the assigned reading states, are “β€œsmall tools that you can add to your blog that add a variety of functions and content.”  The more in-depth WordPress support page on widgets defines them this way: “Widget is a fancy word for tools or content that you can add, arrange, and remove from the sidebar(s) of your blog.”

In class, we will delete all menus that your theme may have added by default, and, if necessary, add the Pages menus that you must include to fulfill the assignment requirements.
